Seminar of NGO participants and decision-makers on
basic principles of the European Pillar of Social Rights
On July 30, the Belarusian partner Local Foundation for Promotion of
International Dialogue and Cooperation "Interakcia", project manager
Marina Borisova, in cooperation with Women's Rights Institute
of Latvia, organized a webinar within the framework of the NORDEN
program in the Baltic Sea region on the implementation of the
principles of the European Pillar of Social Rights to ensure equal
opportunities for women and men in the civil society.
The webinar was attended by 17 NGO participants from Belarus,
Latvia, Kaliningrad, Lithuanian and Estonia.
Laila Balga, Project Coordinator, opened the discussion and
introduced with the European Pillar of Social Rights and the tasks
of the Nordic Council of Ministers' projects. Ineta Ielite,
Chairwoman of Latvian NGO Cooperation Network of the Women's
Organizations shared experiences of women's activities in Latvia.
Presentation on the resources for NGO social inclusion and gender
equality policy support was made by Inga Vovcenko, Irena
Moreino and Ilze Gensberga, the specialists of the
National Library of Latvia, members of IWO-International Women's
Organisation.
The project partners expressed unequivocal support for the
democratic integration of the Belarusian partner in their country.
