Local workshop of NGO educators on competencies
for strengthening social inclusion in Greece
The local workshop was implemented in 5 November 2022 in Athens,
Greece, by partner Hellenic Antipoverty Network, led by Panagiota
Arvaniti, Project Manager.
The activity increased the competence of 20 NGO educators in the
field of social inclusion.
The target group of this activity was NGO educators - staff, experts
and volunteer specialists with various ages (29-59), Greek
nationality (16) and others (4), both sexes (15 women, 5 men),
immigrants and other persons with low-income (12), persons with
different educational level. However, every target group member's
level of education and previous experience in promoting non-formal
adult education are key determinants for them to participate and
expand their knowledge in this activity, then pass on their
knowledge to the members of their organization, especially to the
most vulnerable people.
The content of this workshop was aimed at increasing knowledge and
information about social rights and social inclusion in the public
environment, to which the non-governmental organizations contribute.
The legal and operational nature of HAN made it necessary to discuss
during this workshop the capacity of the network to pursue its goals
for social inclusion.
Through informative materials and discussions, HAN educators
Panagiota Arvaniti and Spyridon Psychas shared their
experiences of the situation within the network and put together
proposals of 6 Greek NGOs that will contribute to the improvement of
the socially inclusive environment and the inclusion process. This
workshop also provided an opportunity to involve in the discussion
the participants with less experience in the programs offered by
Erasmus+ and in the context of the European dimension.
The results of the workshop were evaluated and no less than 5
proposals were summarized.
