Summary of survey and local workshop of NGO
educators on creating innovative courses for disadvantaged groups in
Greece
The local workshop was implemented in 9 and 10 March 2023 in Athens,
Greece, by partner Hellenic Antipoverty Network, led by Spyridon
Psychas, Project Manager.
The activity increased the competence of 20 NGO educators in the
field of social inclusion. The target group of this activity was NGO
educators - staff, experts and volunteer specialists with various
ages (21-65), Greek nationality (16), other (4), both sexes (14
women, 6 men), a single mother (1), persons with low-income (6),
students (4), persons with different educational level (higher - 13,
professional - 7). Prior to the workshop, a relevant survey was
implemented through a special questionnaire, which was answered by
20 employees by different organizations and specialities in relevant
fields.
The participants shared their concerns and experiences, evaluated
which methods are most effective, made innovative proposals and
networked with each other. Through informative materials and
discussions, HAN educator Panagiota Arvaniti shared her
experience of the situation within the network and put together
proposals that will contribute to the improvement of the socially
inclusive environment and educational process for the disadvantaged
groups of population. Summary of the project material will follow.
This workshop also provided an opportunity to involve in the
discussion the participants with less experience in the programs
offered by Erasmus+ and in the context of the European dimension.
Attracting educated professionals to the NGO network will be an
important tool for increasing people's well being in the regions of
Greece.
The results of the workshop were evaluated and no less then two
proposals were summarized.
