Local workshop of NGO educators on raising awareness of digital environment for disadvantaged groups in Estonia

The local workshop was implemented in 15 and 16 March 2023 in Tallinn, Estonia, by partner Eesti People to People, led by Ruta Pels, President, Project Manager.

The activity increased the competence of 22 NGO educators in the field of social inclusion. The target group of this activity was NGO educators - staff, experts and volunteer specialists with various ages (19-65), Estonian nationality (19), Russian nationality (3), both sexes (7 women, 15 men), persons with low-income (9), students (4), persons with different educational level (higher - 19 , secondary school - 3). However, every target group member's level of education and previous experience in promoting non-formal adult education are key determinants for them to participate and expand their knowledge in this activity, then pass on their knowledge to the members of their organization, especially to the most vulnerable people.

The content of this workshop was aimed at raising awareness of digital environment for disadvantaged groups. The participants discussed the capacity of the network for people to increase their digital competences and the needs of refugees in the new country, how to achieve their integration. Through informative materials and discussions, EPTP educators Ruta Pels and Leonid Smulskiy shared their experiences of the situation within the network and presented a new digital challenge in the social integration policy. This workshop also provided an opportunity to involve in the discussion the participants with less experience in the digital education programs offered by Erasmus+. Attracting educated professionals to the NGO network will be an important tool for increasing people's well being in the region of Estonia.

The results of the workshop were evaluated and the proposal of the participants on good practices using was fixed.
