Local workshop of NGO educators on raising
awareness of digital environment for disadvantaged groups in Greece
The local workshop was implemented in 5 and 6 April 2023 in Athens,
Greece, by partner Hellenic Antipoverty Network, led by Panagiota
Arvaniti, Project Manager.
The activity increased the competence of 36 NGO educators in the
field of social inclusion. The target group of this activity was NGO
educators - staff, experts and volunteer specialists with various
ages (20-63), Greek nationality (34), other (2), both sexes (28
women, 8 men), persons with low-income and unemployed (24), persons
with different educational level (higher - 12, professional - 20,
elementary - 4). However, every target group member's level of
education and previous experience in promoting non-formal adult
education are key determinants for them to participate and expand
their knowledge in this activity, then pass on their knowledge to
the members of their organization, especially to the most vulnerable
people.
The content of this workshop was aimed at raising awareness of the
digital environment for disadvantaged groups. The workshop included
an introduction to the types of innovation and digital education
with introductions and simultaneous familiarization with GR Code and
about 30 free Google applications on the participants' laptops, as
well as aimed at creating educational materials available online.
Through informative materials and discussions, HAN educators
Xenia Koutedaki and Yannis Kissas shared their
experiences and presented a new digital challenge in the social
inclusion policy. This workshop also provided an opportunity to
involve in the discussion the participants with less experience in
the digital education programs offered by Erasmus+. Attracting
educated professionals to the NGO network will be an important tool
for increasing people's well being in the regions of Greece.
The results of the workshop were evaluated and no less than two
proposals were summarized.
